It's nearly winter solstice and that means we'll soon be closer to spring than further from it. Ah, a hopeful fact in a dark season. My annual SOULSTICE CELEBRATION, with themes of darkness and light, will feature Tillamook Burn and Steve Cleveland in an intimate house concert following a simple dinner. Expect a short carol sing at the end.
In January, I am promoting a couple concerts featuring one of my teachers and friends, Mike Lightnin' Wells, a fantastic roots musician from NC. Lightnin' plays old blues, old time, bluegrass, tin pan alley, obscure ukelele songs, and whistles. He is a treasure and I know you'll enjoy this rare chance to hear him. http://lightninwells.com

I hope you can join us for a soulful and heart warming evening of a simple dinner followed by an intimate acoustic show. The seasonal show includes music , poetry and story that explores themes of darkness and light, as well as gives a nod to Christmas. We'll have some carol singing at the end -because it's fun and we all could use a little unity of spirit.
We are providing soup , bread and a seasonal cocktail. Treats welcome and BYOB.

Mike "Lightnin'" Wells brings traditions together in his entertaining, informative and down-home one-man shows. His latest album, titled O Lightnin' Where Art Thou?, displays his range as never before as he plays and sings his way through songs from early country and bluegrass to blues, gospel, and old time mountain music. Born in West Virginia and largely raised in North Carolina, Lightnin' was smitten early by the famed WWVA Jamboree radio show out of Wheeling, West Virginia. When his family moved to the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area, he discovered a rich vein of piedmont blues and old time music as well.
