FREERANGE AMERICANA BLUES * FOLK * ORIGINALS

Spectacular Vintage Guitar Site - info and photos www.vintagemartin.com

Robert Corwin is a friend of mine from Philadelphia who has an amazing collection and understanding of vintage instruements, predominently guitars. If you like such things, you 'll enjoy perusing his site. Get a hanky for the drooling though.
In recent years, Robert Corwin has assembled one of the world's most comprehensive collections of vintage Martin and Gibson guitars in order to create a virtual educational museum on the web illustrating the development of acoustic guitars in America, from the 1830's to 1960's.
As Jason Verlinde, Publisher and Editor of The Fretboard Journal has said, "To the outside world, Robert is probably best known for his legendary ‘60s-era shots of Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary and Joni Mitchell. But he’s also been quietly perfecting the art of 'guitar porn' ...with the most in-depth, photo-intensive look ever at old, pre-war (and in many cases antique) Martin guitars ... All online and for free."

This should be a very cool show of acoustic blues and I love Steve and Anne's music, so I know you will, too. We'll take turns onstage. Here's a fun quote from Steve. "Getting sandwiched between these two lovely blues-singing ladies sounds like a good way to start my year! "

I am looking forward to some hokum with Johnnie Ward and Paul Basset in the Eagle Ridin' Papas. We've been playing together alomst 10 years, but those two have been playing old blues around Portland longer than you can remember. Consider them the elder statesmen of the jass scene here in Portlandia. They were weird before Portland was.
