AMERICANA ROOTS & BLUES * BALLADS * FOLK * NEW
Home for the Holidays; Forest Grove, Muddy Rudder, Atomic Cocktails, House concerts and special Christmas Song Circles
Come on out in the cold, dark and wet night to share some Lauren cheer. Sounds inviting, doesn't it? Well, human warmth is a treasure this time of year so I have scheduled many opportunities to share it through music this month. You can catch me with Greg Clarke, the Strawberry Rune Christmas show, a new group holiday class at my house , the Eagle Ridin' Papas and for some solo work, too. Closer to Christmas, my daughter Zoe is likely to be part of show, so stay tuned.

Strawberry Rune Christmas Concert

"Angels with horns" Charley Rowley
Elizabeth Nicholson , Betsy Branch and Lauren Sheehan present a soul srirring and heart warming solstice show. They explore the polarities of light and dark in the themes of nature, families, hope, loss, despair and humor. The music touches the ancient and common stirrings of the soul during these long, dark nights, celebrating the secular and human experiences of the season. Expect lots of singing along opportunities.

ALL voices and instruments, from horn to bass, are welcome in these Christmas song circles. We will do some carols and songs of the season, keeping the darkness at bay with our good cheer and music.
I will provide a bit of ensemble directing to help organize our sound, lead some vocal warm ups and help during the sessions as I can. Participants are invited to bring words and chords and add to our list of songs
You may come to as many or few circles as you like, and spread the word. BYOB and treats welcome.

Atomic Cocktails - with Johnnie Ward
1st Tuesdays 8pm Mock Crest Tavern 3435 North Lombard Street Portland, OR 97217
It's a blast, Atomic cocktail night with the elder statesman Johnnie Ward and his Eagle Ridin' Papas jug band. Expect changing drink specials guaranteed to mushroom your mind, new tunes and hokum, as Mr. Chauncey blows the coolest jug west of the Mississippi. That's right folks, it's a modern jug band with a jug.
New CD due this winter
Ramble in Rose City Wilson River Records is my 3rd CD and should be released early to mid winter. We are doing final mixes now and it sounds fabulous. I love my recording team, Billy Oskay and Alan Garren.
The breadth of my Americana Roots style is featured on this project, as well as many NW players that I have been working with in the past few years. As you would expect, there is a variety of country blues, folk and old time music as well as some originals. The fretless and fretted banjo play together and there is a mandolin duet. Local musicians are Terry Robb, Johnnie Ward, Greg Clarke, Laura Quigley, Betsy Branch, Elizabeth Nicholson, Dean Meuller, Micheal Ballash and my daughter, Zoe Carpenter. ( Wow, that's an equal number of men and women. Cool.
