FREE-RANGE AMERICANA BLUES * COUNTRY * FOLK
Leicester, Somerville, New Bedford , Ashburnham MA
Hello Friends,
I'll be in your area very soon, promoting my new CD Rose City Ramble which rose to #3 on the folk dj charts and is getting excellent reviews and being played in at least 14 countries. I am having a great time playing from it on my tours and am very excited to be headed to my old home state, near to relatives, old friends, TANTASQUA high school buddies and fans. If you are planning on coming to a show, shoot me an email so I'll look for you.
And for the Portland fans we have a cool concert coming up at Wilfs. Wilfs is a fine listening room with great old architecture at the train station. Zoe Carpenter and I will play elegant folk blues, with Bill Uhlig on bass.

(Near family, friends, fans and TANTASQUA alumnae and pals finally!)
I hope to play my heart out for many of you from my past as well as those new fans. It's been a long time coming to have a show in a good listening room in central MA, and would mean a lot to re-connect and visit after the show. There will be simple sweets and coffee , tea, etc. Oh, and a special guest will be joining me to share our music/poetry performance piece we call "Chocolate".
Shoot me an email if I should be on the look out for you. I'll plan on staying around a bit or seeing if there is a tavern down the street to catch up in...
Vintage Guitar Demonstration/ Concert
Nov 4 7-10pm $12-20 NEFMA Gallery Arts at the Armory (basement level) 191 Highland Ave. Somerville, MA 02143
http://www.newenglandfolkmusic.org/application.html#/events/

In recent years, Robert Corwin has assembled one of the world's most comprehensive collections of vintage Martin and Gibson guitars in order to create a virtual educational museum on the web illustrating the development of acoustic guitars in America, from the 1830's to 1960's. As Jason Verlinde, Publisher and Editor of The Fretboard Journal has said, "To the outside world, Robert is probably best known for his legendary ‘60s-era shots of Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary and Joni Mitchell. But he’s also been quietly perfecting the art of 'guitar porn' ...with the most in-depth, photo-intensive look ever at old, pre-war (and in many cases antique) Martin guitars ... All online and for free."
Robert will show a selection of Martin and Gibson guitars and also return to his 1960's roots as a performer and songwriting protege of Peter, Paul & Mary by joining with his talented friend, singer and expert blues guitarist Lauren Sheehan, to demonstrate what the various guitars can do with different musical styles and playing techniques. Robert will also bring a selection of his trademark, world famous photos to illustrate some of the beautiful details and features of the guitars in his collection. Be prepared to be educated and entertained.

Wepecket Island Records "Rolling Roots Revue" Saturday, Nov, 5, 5:00-7:30 pm Wamsutta Club - Rounders' Club (the cellar bistro) 427 County St New Bedford MA 02740
reservations 508 997 7433 dress code relaxed in the bistro
Wepecket Island Records is a small but happening record label that specializes in modern folks playing American traditional and roots music. They have several different artists in the catalogue, including me on a Piedmont blues project. Tireless leader, Jack Radcliffe, enjoys putting together shows with several of the artists on the same bill, with lots of collaboration and end of concert audience jamming and participation.
Saturday's show showcases a fabulous variety of American music traditions. These traditions are something we are all love deeply, consider as fine examples of our cultural heritage and look forward to sharing.

Check out the menu on line in case you want to come for dinner, too. Bill Uhlig will join us on bass and this should be a fine show, Zoe has some new songs and keeps adding more guitar playing to our sets and sounds better than ever.

Holiday Song Circles Sundays, Dec 4, 11 3- 6 pm $10
Last year was so wonderful that I've decided to again host two song circles on the themes of soulstice and Christmas, home and hearth and the delicacies of the human soul in this dark but also hopeful time of year.
Reserve in advance so I will know if we have critical mass or not. All instruments welcome, I will have some songs sheets and provide group leadership as desired.

“Your CD is excellent — it accompanied me (over and over) on my swing up from Seattle to Anacortes when I was very tired and had done too much driving. It's a keeper.” —Peggy Seeger
You can listen and/or purchase on my web site or on itunes. Both digital and hard copies are available. And let me know what you think, as it's always rewarding and interesting to get feedback from you, fans.
