	Lauren Sheehan, Songster September, 2008 Hello folks. Hard to believe it's already another season, and hasn't the summer whizzed by? It sure was full of music, fine times, and good friends. I'm back in town more regularly now, so do get in touch if you are interested in lessons, or stop by the Muddy Rudder on a Thursday for a listen and say hello. Port Townsend Country Blues Festival www.centrum.org/blues/ This is the place where I first got introduced to so many deep acoustic blues players, and the intoxicating sounds that are part of the old style. This summer's week was as inspiring as ever, but the coolest thing was to realize just how much music my daughter Zoe has absorbed and can kick out now. She has been coming to folk events for her whole life, singing and dancing her way through it in the most natural way. Now it appears that the music is her cultural heritage in the most natural way, too. She joined artistic director and harmonica monster, Phil Wiggins, for a song in the participants concert, and you can check it out! Zoe Carpenter and Phil Wiggins: View video Jay Summerour and Jerron Paxton were two guys I had fun getting to know. Jay is from back east and one of the most fun loving musicians ever. Here is a good introduction of him. View video Now, Jerron Paxton like no one I have ever met, it feels as if he is channelling some old minstrel musician from the 19th century. He's a real mystery, an original guy and only 19. Here is a good utube clip of him: View video The wild young woman wasted no time in getting Jerron to join them for a little fun at the participants' concert for "Hit the Road Jack" and "Do the Mess Around" (Can you pick our daughter, Zoe Carpenter from that posse?)
