Lauren Sheehan, Songster

Happy Summer - almost.

NC was great and I've got good stories from the tour. My new CD, the Light Still Burns, is doing real well. It was #3 on the folk dj charts in April and got to #2 on the Oregon roots chart, thank you dj's. The blues songs are getting out there on blues stations, wa-hoo.

I'll be in the NW this month; tearing it up with Terry Robb in Portland and Seattle, juggin' and jassin' it with the Eagle Ridin' Papas, teaching two music workshops, ( a harmony singing workshop in Weiser ID with my pals Sallie Sublet and Dawn Holiday, and a cool new master clasee for Artichoke Musis starting end of June, " Bringing your music / musicality to the next level" - Master Class for singers and players on all instruments in all genres) . http://artichokemusic.org/classes/index.html

See my calendar at the bottom and blurbs below for details.

In July, I'll be getting ready for the big fun at Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland July 4-7. FRIDAY JULY 5 - Check out the Friday night crusie with Jerron Paxton. Get those tickets soon, they always sell out. http://www.tickettomato.com/event.php?event_id=1796

Jerron seems as if he should have been born in 1860, but he's only 24. No kidding. I wouldn't miss him, and I promise you've never seen anyone like him before. I am thrilled to be sharing the top deck with him.

In a supportive group, learn how to be a better musician and/or performer. Individuals will sing and play, getting immediate coaching and feedback. We'll focus on strengths and how to maximize them, as well as consider areas for development. Expect clear, straightforward suggestions, practice/ performance time and 'homework' in addition to group warm ups. This group process tends to be intense and rewarding and students usually learn quite a bit with each other.

Be prepared for playing and singing material you are familiar with. We should be able to use the stage and work acoustically, no PA.

pre-requisite - you must know several songs from memory and be able to play/sing them during class
