Lauren Sheehan, Songster
Mar 2014
" ... evokes great musical forebears like Mississippi John Hurt, Lead Belly, and Mance Lipscomb, who, though blues-based, drew inspiration and material from wherever they chose and were thus often referred to as songsters rather than blues musicians. ... Lauren is very much in that songster tradition." Veteran music journalist and broadcaster Mike Regenstreif

Hello. Wow, after travelling with blizzards in Portland and New England, what a pleasure to find spring emerging in Oregon. I'll be home for a spell now, so it's a good time to catch me for lessons and coaching, local concerts and shows in Cannon Beach and Lincoln City.

The illustration below, by Johnny Acuso, is so wonderful, that even though the event is in the past, it's worth sharing. See you next year for another night of jugs, jass and jive, vintage attire, dancing and drinks.

The Cannon Beach history center produces intimate unplugged shows in the old log cabin decorated with musuem quality quilts. I love this cozy venue and will look forward to a night of roots and blues with Bill Uhlig, on bass. Since it's a history center, you bet I'll bring some old Gibsons, including the Banner guitar, and share material from the WWII Gibson banner guitar CD and Kalamazoo Gals book.
