Lauren Sheehan, Songster
Winter, 2009
Concerts in Roseburg, Cannon Beach, Portland OR
- see calendar for details

Wow, February already.
The winter is just flying by, which means spring is on the way. And although it stays wet here in Oregon for months, at least the bulbs are coming up, greens are growing and we can plant the early crops soon.
We had a great time with the Portland Old time gathering in January, as usual. Friends and splendid fiddle banjo players from all over the country played for days all over this city. I thank all my neighbors for letting us carry on with the all night social music making and cultural exchange. What a treat to hear, play, dance to and enjoy such spirited music. www.bubbaguitar.com/festival/
A few new things are in the works that I really look forward to. I am thrilled to have Betsy Branch officially with us in Strawberry Rune (Celtic /American band), and eagerly await upcoming Portland shows. Note, the Hardly Strickly Irish Concert in double bill with Kate Power and Steve Einhorn. Also, Terry Robb and I have a run out in the rustic and beautiful Rock Creek Tavern through March. He and I range from old country and swing to deep acoustic blues and we present a collection of music not often heard anymore, especially with such compelling style and old feel. We have been playing some powerful Son House, Sleepy John, Blind Willie Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Etta Baker and more. It's a treat for me to be able to play this with him and I know many of you lovers of deep roots music would really enjoy our passionate show.
I am looking forward to some Oregon travel and solo concerts out of town, and hope to see you out there. There are also a few chances to hear me in concert in Portland in the next few months, too.

Terry and Lauren at Rock Creek Tavern 1st and 3rd Weds. in Feb and March, 7 pm
Folks, you have several opportunities to come boogie and savor the deep roots- blues and country music of one of the NW's most prestigious duos, in a good room with good sound and rustic ambiance.
They will be playing several Wednesdays, out in the Rock Creek Tavern, just about 25 minutes west of Portland. This is old stomping ground for many who lived in the foot hills or sky line ridge in the "back to the land" days, and it's as charming as ever.
We hope many of you will come support and enjoy this mid week show.
"Robb’s explosive acoustic blues ferocity tempered by Sheehan’s sensual old time spunk makes for riveting interplay. "

MUSIC YOU CAN HEAR and NO GREEN BEER! Hardly Strictly St. Patrick's Day Concert, Wed, Mar 16 Alberta Street Pub 7 pm $10
Strawberry Rune
and Kate Power and Steve Einhorn
Put on the Irish and come enjoy an evening of Irish and related music, stories, jokes and fun in with special Portland double bill.
Kate and Steve are beloved Portland folk favorites, National touring artists and recently Kate's song, "Travis John", won the "Music to Life" Grand Prize at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2006. Rich voices, masterful playing. "It's wonderful." - Pete Seeger.
We are really excited to present Strawberry Rune, as fiddler Betsy Branch is now part of the band. She brings incredible drive, her sweet voice alluring stage presence and the sum continues to be ever more than the already striking parts of this band. The band play a lot of Irish/Celtic and American music, old and new, have goreous 3 part harmonies and presents material related to the seasons and agrarian cycles at the time of a show.
