The BBQ Orchestra was ignited by Fritz Richmond, (jug-blower, washtub bass master and former Jim Kweskin Jug band member), in Portland, OR, where Fritz lived the last part of his life. Several members of the BBQ have kept the coals burnin’; notably Peter “Spud” Siegel mandolinist and Jon “Doc” Stein dobro player. Roots musician Lauren Sheehan and all around bottom end guy Michael Gifford spice up the current marinade. In various configurations, this saucy lot has toured in far flung places such as the Grenadines, North Carolina, Maine, Ireland, Italy and beyond.
